Does anyone know precisely what is supposed to happen by June 16/17, 2006?
Or why someone suspects something will happen by that date?

Well, duh! But he did say that it would already be over by the 17th, so
the 16th is the last day for it to happen. So there. p

I really don't. And as far as I know IDS 7 (That's a real dinosaur!)
will be supported up to 2008... wow... no... September 2009 (
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data...s/731-eos.html )

This is something Oracle doesn't do... I'm sitting at a customer which
of course also uses Oracle, and they currently have applications using
unsupported versions of Oracle Database, because they didn't certify
their applications to run on newer versions...

And if you ask me, IBM is doing wrong... I'm tired of hitting bugs that
are corrected at 9 or 10... And we keep giving patches to the
customer... When I say to the customer "you should move...." they say
"why? You'll support this for ages!"... But they moved to newer versions
of Oracle... why? Because they were forced!

Regards.
