Hi,

install the newer version (9.3) after the older version (9.2)
and both into separate directories.

The version info is kept in the separate directories, so no
problem there.

The links generated are for libraries. The newer libraries are
in general backward compatible with/for the older versions,
so the older version can use the newer libraries.
(Mostly the newer version of IDS does not work properly
with the old libraries due to missing functionality.)

Following this you should be fine.
