You guessed it right. This is because 32 to 64 switch.

IDS 10.00.FC7
CSDK 2.90.FC4R1

I ran a test upgrade from 9 to 10 which worked with no problems but as soon
as I ran a program i received several errors saying 'wrong ELF class:
ELFCLASS64' a recompile worked but I'm interested in knowing why I had
these errors in the first place. I had previously used CSDK 2.81.UC2R1, is
it because I've changed from 32bit to 64bit?
