2 I have found useful are Edit Plus from ES Computing ( small fee
payable )
Does all the color syntax checking and can be configured for
different uses,. HTML, C/C++, perl Java come by default.

And Xray XML editor from Architag - free as far as I remember. Primarily
for XML but seems to cope well with other file types.
