Default Restoring Specific dbspaces

IDS9.40.FC4
HPUX11.0

Hello all a few questions for you regarding restoring specific
dbspaces.

The customer we support has added a test company (within baan) into a
specific dbscpace, if this testdata becomes corrupt would it be
feasible to restore this dbspace only?
When restoring a specific dbscpace after a corruption, is it feasable
to restore the dbspace to a specific point in time before the
corruption occurred? And would the other dbspaces not be affected by
this restore? Would the users be unaffected by the warm restore of the
corrupted dbspace?

Thanks in advance.

Howard

All answered in the Backup and Restore manual. Short answers:

Yes. Yes with onBar. No. As long as they don't need access to it
before the restore completes.

NOPE onbar restore is only for media errors.

if you want to extract data you have to use archecker todo a pit.
Or use a test box to do a pit of the whole system
