I was planning to go to the Tampa Florida event in May..

but registration is 1,800 dollars!!!

No way can I afford that...so what happens next?

there is an event in the Hague and one in Rome this year. these may be
a little closer to home for you

Hi David,
the solution would be to organize a European event managed by LOCAL
USER GROUPS .

I think the Washington DC (Lester Knutsen) and Southeast Informix Users
Group (Walt Hultgren) demonstrated, how local Informix User Groups can
set up excellent Informix events which are

a) affordable for everyone and
b) offer a much better contents and atmosphere than any IBM / IDUG
event I have been so far.

Why can this not be done in Europe ? May be some heads of IUG groups
(UK, Germany, Italy...) read this e-mail and start showing some joint
activities in Europe. I would definitely be interested to help in
setting up this event.
