 UC3 to UC5 I am upgrading from IDS 10.00.UC3 to UC5. I have installed UC5 into a new INFORMIXDIR and pointed the data devices from UC3 to the new version. Works fine and reverting the same devices back to UC3 seems ok. Does anyone know of any problems with doing this?      |

This may prevent you from having the two instances online on the same data chunks at the same time. |

One point, if this were a more extensive upgrade you MAY have had to perform a reversion under the new release before being able to bring up the old one. This is never required between maintenance releases, but version upgrades MAY require it. The release notes of the newer release will normally specify what upgrades require a reversion and you should make yourself aware of that before bringing the new release online. Art S. Kagel |
