Maybe emails with attachments are not allowed in comp.databases.ingres. There does not seem to be a provision for adding attachments via the groups.google interface.

Attachments to newsgroup articles are usually achieved via some sort of encoding mechanism.
Various advanced news readers can re-assemble such attachments even if they are split
across multiple posts.

As for info-ingres, there is a 600kb limit to the size of attachments.

Although many are fans of attachments, other than the occasional screen shot
in compressed jpg or png, are huge attachments useful?


I've registered for the community wiki, waiting on a response. If someone else has time to publish it at the wiki I'd be very happy. However, there shouldn't be more there than there is in Google Groups.  Certainly
not time-wise.  I wish I could have brought the 10 years of archive from Caribou Lake,
but alas it was overlooked and now it is too late.
