Default 370-3200 X7032A vs. 370-3798 X7038A

Hello everbody,

there are two eBay auctions running with the two abovementioned types
of RAM for Sun Ultra 5/10s. What, if any, difference is there between
them?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

They are physically the same size. It's the speed...
X7032 256Mb (2 x 370-3200 128Mb DIMM) are 60ns.
X7038 256Mb (2 x 370-3798 128Mb DIMM) are 50ns

These options take 2 slots, but they can be mixed in with what
you have now.
So you should check how the memory is made up in the systems
- as they stand. The Ultra5 and 10 only have 4 slots, so there's not
a lot of room for mixing/matching there. But if it's maxed out, you
should be able to remove 2 DIMMs and fit these.
The faster DIMMs (370-3798) are only useful if you have the
faster procs, say, above 333MHz.

The 440 MHz CPU requires tha faster memory.
