| Hi, I am totally unfamiliar with Sun workstations, but we have an Ultra Sparc 10 here whose CD-ROM drive has gone bad. So I want to replace it with a new one. My question is, can I use any regular 20$ IDE CD-ROM drive that I can buy in any PC store or do I need a replacement part from Sun? Thanks! |

I tried it, and sure enough -- no problem. In fact, I ended up putting in a cheap DVD drive, which seems even better to me. |
