| Hey hardware-Gurus, :-) .... Chris Johnson was so kind so sell me one of his Creator3D cards. It even came with the correct plastic front plate. The problem is: It doesn't fit into the Enterprise 2. It looks something like this: back +----------+----------+-------------+-----------------+ | | | | | | | | card slot | | L | sbus 1 | sbus 2 | for | power | r e | | | Creator3D | | i f | | | | supply | g t | | | | | h | | | ::: | | t s | | | =========== | | i +----------+----------+--+----------+-----------------+ s d | | | i e | cpu 1 | | d | | | e +------------------------+ +-----------------+ | | | | | cpu 2 | | cdrom drive | There's the connector where the card should connect to the mainboard. In the sketch above it's the line consisting of the "=" characters. Just in front of that is a 20-pin connector labelled J3208 (":::" in the sketch). This one rises high above the board and lets me not plug the Creator3D in. It looks like it could be removed but I tried it and it doesn't move. In fact I tried so hard that I feared to damage the motherboard. Does anyone here know what this connector is for and if I should remove it then how this is done? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much in advance. -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net |

| Hey Chris, > Don't worry about that connector. It does NOT touch the board when it's > properly installed. .... thanks very much for helping. Tho I don't know what went wrong the first time when I did exactly that, this time it worked. Seems like sometimes it's good to watch a movie between doing two things. :-) -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net |
