This card does work on a PC but not as primary adapter because it lacks a gfx card BIOS for initializing the card at bootup (the card has an OpenFirmwar-ROM). Thus you either need also another card as primary card or you flash the card with the ATI PC BIOS for this card. But then, better sell the XVR-100 and get a cheap PC gfx card (Radeon 7000s go for a few bucks today)... Benjamin |

Thus you either need also another card as primary card I'm asking because i want to setup a three monitor system without doing a manual configuration. So i want something that is automatically setup by the installation script, without any strange user invention. And digging into undocumented 20 year old X11 config files is this for me. I just need an X11R6 system for this, let it be solaris or linux or freebsd or whatever. |

Depending on the performance you need, you could get some s/h Sun Rays, you can get these to behave in a multi-monitor fashion, and Sun Ray 1(g) systems will be dirt cheap on eBay now that some new/nicer Sun Rays have been released. |
