Default E220R fan trays

Hi all,

The Sun HW ref shows two fan trays for the E220R: 540-4434
and 540-5088 (X9820A). There's also a note stating the latter
replaced the former in October 2001.

Given its datacentre target location, I don't expect the E220R
to be "office quiet", but mine (which has the older fan tray)
is noisy enough to wake the dead (even though it is in a storage
room in my basement, I can hear it upstairs in my bedroom)! Does
the newer fan tray make less noise?

TIA,

I've listed to a fair number of 220Rs some produced before and some
after Oct 2001 and have never heard any that I could perceive a
difference in. I really don't think the newer fans are going to quiet
it down.
