| Hi all, The Sun HW ref shows two fan trays for the E220R: 540-4434 and 540-5088 (X9820A). There's also a note stating the latter replaced the former in October 2001. Given its datacentre target location, I don't expect the E220R to be "office quiet", but mine (which has the older fan tray) is noisy enough to wake the dead (even though it is in a storage room in my basement, I can hear it upstairs in my bedroom)! Does the newer fan tray make less noise? TIA, -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA, author of "Solaris Systems Programming", published in August 2004. President, Rite Online Inc. I really don't think the newer fans are going to quiet it down. Elias |
