Hello,

mounting a hard disk to an E250 needs a bracket 540-3024 (for 1"
drives). Second (for drives with 10.000 or more rpm) a heat shield
will be needed, I think.
SUN has several of these, but I didn't find the differences (340-3462,
-4288, -5928, -6640 and -7269, if not more...). Drive will be a 1"
Seagate or Fujitsu. Any ideas out there?

are'nt those metalplates, just fire protection for not burning the next
drive ?
very good to have but not mandatory, i think.

Examining mine, I would say that their function is to divert
more airflow close to the logic board on the bottom of the drive, to
improve that cooling.

No worries regarding cooling, the E250 has plenty of cooling for disks!

Plug in any 1" drive you like and enyoj.
