| I have EMC disks which appear to be merely Barracuda 73GB 10K RPM disks. Anyone know if I can pull the actual disks from the EMC disk caddy and place in a Sun D1000 or 420R. Is the EMC specific code in the connector on the caddy or in the drive itself? I'll need to obtain the drive specs and create my own format.dat entry to label correctly. |

I am not sure if a low level format is enough or if you have also to replace the firmware. HTH, Axel Neumann |

When I got them I had to return one as it had really wierd geometry amounting to 20Mb of usable capacity. -- Andre. Email: andre at africa dot purplecow dot org. |
