| A SUN Ultra 1, and it is now dead. But in its death throes (in between startup and forced shutdown) , it repeatedly produced the following message : ADABAD trap cpu MMU data miss If anyone has any idea as to what the message relates to (ie something that may be easily replaceable to restore the SUN so a full backup copy can be made of the disk) , further info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance etc |

SCSI Disks If the problem persists, an extended POST can help. Connect a terminal (vt 100 / hyperterm etc) to the serial port ( port a) of the U1. Disconnect keyboard from the system and power on the U1. You should see the post output on the terminal. Check POST output for errors. HTH Thomas |
