| Here's the problem: I had 40Gb disk full of important data. It was FAT32 file sistem. I don't know what have I done but now it is a Linux file sistem on that disk. I didn't format disk. How can I return previously FAT32 file sistem so I can use my old data. Is there any program for this? Can anyone help me? |

Maybe the partition type number has been changed. That would make the disk appear as being a Linux filesystem (btw. what Linux filesystem? Linux supports a whole bunch) try using fdisk (i don't know what variants are avaiable on Solaris) to change the partition FAT32 (0x0B) and see what happens. -- Lasse Jensen [fafler at linuxmail dot org] |

I have important data there. I dont know what filesystem it is. I installed Linux Knoppix. |

However, fdisk is not the tool for that and could result in even bigger problems. You need something like the Norton disk tools that will allow editing the partition table. -- The e-mail address in our reply-to line is reversed in an attempt to minimize spam.
