Default Found on Creator 3D card - "DonT SiN"

I replaced a creator3d card recently in an ultra 1, and was taking a
closer look at it and noticed a bunch of names running along the top
edge of the card:

BrianS JoeN MIKE L ChrisO AlexK CharlseS ... (etc, etc)

I would assume these people had something to do with the development
of the card. Ok, that's pretty cool, however next to the last name is
"DonT SiN". (HAHAHA)

I would assume the developers had a sense of humor, as well as two
collegues with the initials "Don T." and "Si N." -- either that or
perhaps I simply have a video board developed with Divine
Intervention.

Can anyone elaborate on this? It begs the question, and my curiosity
is piqued.

Thanks,
bl8n8r

I had a #9 GXE Level 14 VLB card in a 486DX2-66 many years ago. It had
Elvis Lives, God Bless Lennon, and a few other things on it as I recall.
All of these were several layers down, too.

I just checked the Creator card in my Ultra1, and some of the names
(including the DonT SiN) have big Xs through them...

I've got a later rev sitting here - the Creator 3D Series 2 (501-41720
and it also lists DonT & SiN, but in a different order so their names
aren't near each other (and capitalized differently - "Dont" and "Sin" -
but the capitalization of names seems to be much more random - some
names are all caps, some have caps at the end but not the beginning,
etc.). The big chip in the middle is labeled "FFB2-LEGEND CONTINUES" so
there seems to be some pride/humor involved still.

Also, SGI has been doing this for years and years.

It doesn't beg the question. Begging the question is stating as fact
that which you are arguing, not "raising" a question.

http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~brians/errors/begs.html is the first hit on
Google for [begs the question].

Sorry I have nothing substantial to add, I just hate mis-use of that
term.

As have many companies, some even at the microscopic level. There's a
web page out there with microphotographs of this stuff, it's pretty
cool if you can find it.

If you're going to be like that, misuse is not hyphenated :-P

I hate to be a jerk about it, but I heard that XVR-1000 is the very
last Sun graphics chipset ever, so I wonder if someone can report what
that says, something like "ok, ATI, Nvidia etc, we give in, you win,
fsckers"

Maybe not on the board, but perhaps in the OBP. I remember the OS ROM
in the BBC Micro having memory that was hidden by the memory mapped I/O
(Fred, Jim, and Sheila for us old Beeb hands). That had an easter egg
in it, thanking everyone involved with the project. Here's a hex dump
of the relevent bit:
