Default framebuffer in SS10

Hi

Is it possible to use a sbus GX framebuffer taken from a SS2 in a
sparc station 10.

I have tried but there is nothing in the monitor.
I have experimented with device-output but that did not
change the output.

Yes.

Maybe the monitor or the card is broken. But I've used GX in SS10s with
no problems.

Connect a keyboard.

Check that the OBP "input-device" is set to "keyboard" and the
"output-device" is set to "screen". These are the defaults (and the
system will drop to serial console if it can't find a keyboard attached),
but they may have been changed to "ttya" which will disable the keyboard/
screen as the console (although you should still be able to see it once the
machine is booted)

Scott.

Have you looked at the OpenBoot parameters? If output-device and
input-device is set to "ttya" then the framebuffer will be ignored.
Make sure that output-device is set to "screen" and input-device
is set to "keyboard".

Check for bent pins on the framebuffer plug.
