| Since there sometimes are people asking for a flat panel display recommendation that works with SGI and/or Sun, I thought this might be interesting. Yesterday I got a new Dell 2005FPW 20" Widescreen Flat Panel monitor. I tested it with a Sun Ultra10/440 Creator3D (which outputs Composite Sync) and a SGI Octane Dual R10k ESI (which outputs Sync-on-Green). Both machines worked perfectly with this display. Of course, the Octane can't use its full resolution due to the lack of video bandwith and widescreen video modes. The display has a very good panel with bright colors (it's even better than my old 1600SW!), one DVI and one analog input for computers, and even two video inputs (CVBS and Y/C) for video sources which also can be included as Picture-in-Picture. For that price there probably isn't a better display available that also works with Sun and SGI. Benjamin -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
