Is there a Gigabit NIC for the Ultra 1? Need one for a Ultra 1E (A12).
Found nothing searching the net.

There is, but what's the point?
SBUS is an old slow bus.

Sun EOL'd it long ago, probably from it being way too high priced for
little to no performance gain.

There are SBus gigE cards which will work in the U1 (although I doubt
any of them were ever qualified for it, and they certainly aren't
supported as the U1 is very much EOSL).

But don't expect gigE performance out of it - you'll run out of CPU well
before you even think about stressing the 1000Mbps mark.

Gigabit Ethernet SBus (GBE/S) 2.0 (X1140A or 501-4375). I used to have
my U2 and U1 hooked up using a pair of these cards in a cross-over
config. You need to hook them up using multimode fibre. I used to get
some improved performance above and beyond the HME interface.

BTW - Sun's list price is $2200, however I bought a couple of pre-owned
cards on eBay for $10 US each ...
