Hardware selection....no clue which server is required

Hi everyone,
We need to select a server to run Tomcat + mySQL to handle peak
5000/average 2000 users as the portal to simulate a stress test of the
media deliverying system for WCDMA network,
This is our current setup

100 PC ---> Cisco switch --->"The Portal Server"--->Main System
|
|
|--->Blade 100 as Read Console

At the moment we have connect an E420 with 4 x 400MHz and 2GB of RAM,
would this be enough to handle the load? if not, which machine should we
use?
