| I fouled up some settings in my OS 10 in my Ultra 10. I couldn't seem to correct the problem So I decided the best way to solve my problem is do an initial install of the software, thinking this would over write the problem with the correct settings. But, No, the install finds the old files and uses them even though I said to do and initial install and to not save anything. I am about to install the disk in a PC and do a format. Is there an easier way? Bill K7NOM |

I've never heard of that. When I select initial install, it lets me set up the filesystems and it does a 'newfs' on them. So there's no files to save... Is it letting you select your partitions? Can you change them by one meg or one cylinder? If it can do that, then I would think it's recreating the filesystems and not saving any files. > I am about to install the disk in a PC and do a format. Is there an > easier way? You could wipe out the disk partitioning from the CDrom boot just as well... -- Darren Dunham ddunham@taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper?
