Default HP 2/20 with Ultrium LVD and Solaris

I'm trying to setup a backup server with an E220R/Solaris 8 with a
Dell PVT128T with LVD Ultrium drives.
Sun also sell this as Sun StorEdge L20 (rebranded HP 2/20 with HVD
instead of LVD SCSI). The Dell/HP LTO Ultrium drive uses LVD.

I'm using the Sun LVD scsi adapter and installed the SUNWqus drivers,
using the latest kernel patch.

If the controller is connected to the SCSI adapter the server does not
boot. It hangs during boot and I have to power cycle it.
Disconnecting the controller card, I can boot and install the device
drivers, but they don't work properly.

I have another Dell/HP Ultrium LVD standalone tape that works fine.

Anyone using a configuration like this?

Try changing the hardware config a bit. A couple things you might do
are try a different SCSI cable, put the PCI card in a different slot,
or use the other port on the PCI card.

You cannot mix HVD with LVD or any other incarnation of SCSI.
You must use an HVD adaptor with HVD drives.
Sun do not (AFAIK) use LVD.

What is the part number 501-xxxx or option XxxxA of your Sun adaptor ?.
