keyboard! in devalias

While looking at the devalias file on several Sun machines (including a
SB 1000), I see two entries for the keyboard. One of them is keyboard!
and has forcemode at the end ot the hardware path.

Anyone know what this is all about? What is the forcemode parameter mean?
