| I have about a dozen V40z servers, each with 2 internal drives. The drives are HW Raid1 mirrored using the onboard HW-Raid controller that comes native to the V40z. The controller is apparently manufactured by LSI. I'm trying to find a way to administer the drives either via linux utilities on the OS or via the Service Processor (SP) interface, but I'm having no luck at all finding anything. How are sysadmins suppose to check/monitor/administer the drives in the V40z servers???? I used the console interface during the initial configuring, but that's only available during boot as far as I know; rebooting is not a viable solution for these hosts. I need to be able to check/admin drives while the host stays up. Thanks in advance for advice. |
