Default Netra Not Responding

Hi All,

I just spent the weekend in vain trying to get a Netra T1 105 I got used on
Ebay to respond at all. I got a db25-rj45 adapter and setup the pins as per
the sun site and others. I tried connecting the cable to both the A and B
ports on the Netra and to a PC and an E250 serial port A. Using tip,
hyperterm and Tera Term I have been unable to get any response at all. The
Netra powers up, or at least the cd, disks, fans and lights fire up. The
programs say they connect however there is no response at all.

The remote box never echos the commands or responds in any way. I have no
idea if the Netra has a system on it or not but I assume it would still
respond in some way. I tried a system disk in the cd but that didnt help.

When I have the cover off the Netra I can see a flashing LED that reflects
off a plastic panel that seems to say HE76 or maybe HELP?

If I were to connect my E250 to the PC with a ethernet cable and the db25-
rj45 adapter would that work and tell me if the cable was okay?

I have tried every possible combination I can think of. This is getting
tiresome.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
the Netra t1 105 is basically a CP1500 board stuffed into a box, along
with some discs and a LOM.
The docs for CP1500
<http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/boards/cp1500/docs/techman.pdf>
discuss the HELP message (Page 188).

You should be getting something back from the LOM so perhaps your cable
isn't quite right.
