| We have a Sun Fire V240 with one of the old dual channel Symbios UltraSCSI controllers installed in one of the PCI bus slots. For some reason, after Solaris 8 12/02 is installed, the Symbios controller shows as c0 and c1, the onboard DVD-ROM is on c2, and the on-board SCSI controller is c3 and c4. I would expect the on-board IDE controller to be c0, and the on-board SCSI controller to be c1 and c2. This is how our V120 behaves. The Administration Guide mentions setting the pcia-probe-list in the OBP, but this variable doesn't exist. I even tried updating the newest OBP and POST images: {1} ok .version Release 4.11.4 created 2003/07/23 08:04 OBP 4.11.4 2003/07/23 08:04 Sun Fire V210/V240,Netra 240 OBDIAG 4.11.4 2003/07/23 08:05 POST 4.11.4 2003/07/23 11:42 but this didn't make any difference. Is it normal for some Sun servers to behave this way? I've never seen one that did, but I've worked mostly with smaller stuff -- V100's and V120's, Sun Blade 100's and 150's, Ultra 1's and 5's. -- Jeff Wieland |
