Sun no longer offers/sells the PS2-to-Type5 Sun Interface Converter anymore; you have to buy them (at $150 versus $75) directly from Kinesis. Same exact product, just more expensive and without the Sun logo on it. I think they quit offering them at the end of September, as we ordered one here earlier this year, then had to order one from Kinesis in October after we called Sun and they said they quit selling them in September. And I tried Kinesis last month and they said they did not have any and did not know when they might have :-( I have tried most of the used Sun dealers in the UK trying to get one as well as posting on most of the sun hardware lists. So far zilch. Regards Dave Saville NB switch saville for nospam in address |

Can't even locate it on their online store. >I think they quit offering them at the end of September, as we ordered >one here earlier this year, then had to order one from Kinesis in >October after we called Sun and they said they quit selling them in >September. >Bill >-- >bill bradford >mrbill@mrbill.net >austin, texas >-----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- >http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! >-----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- -- Charles H. Also, they only seem to support two-button modes of typical pointer devices. -- mailto:rlhamil@smart.net http://www.smart.net/~rlhamil |

A co-worker just ordered 2 of these a week or two ago. I got her the quote from our local Sun Sales Drone. (price was $75.00/each) I'm not sure if the converters came directly from sun or it went though a local sun resaler (who might have gotten them from some place other then Sun). But it's Option 465, part number 595-3692. I'm ordering a few soon, next few weeks, for a project coming up. -- Barry Keeney Chaos Consulting email barryk@chaoscon.com "Rap is Square Dancing gone terribly, terribly Wrong...." |
