| Hello All, I'm new to SUN hardware and I'm testing 2 x2100 servers and I don't understand this SDMC. If I understand correctly it should act as some sort of mgmt interface, but I don't understand how. I've booted up on the CD and used util.exe to assign an IP address and usernames/passwords reboot and now what. I can ping the IP address but that is it, I person told me I should open my browser and type http://x.x.x.x but nothing comes back. I can't seem to find any good documentation on these cards on Sun's site. I would appriciate any help. BTW I want to run Windows on these for this test. Thanks Craig Dieck |

There is documentation at: http://www.sun.com/products-n-soluti...100/index.html I don't know what SDMC is, but it's the same as the ILOM card, there is documentation at: http://www.sun.com/products-n-soluti...100/index.html -- -Gary Mills- -Unix Support- -U of M Academic Computing and Networking- |

It doesn't use http (that's ILOM in the 4100/4200), it uses only IPMI. You need an IPMI client. -frank |
