| Hi I have a SCSI StoreEdge 3300 RAID array conncetd to a SunFire280R. For some reason I cannot seem to open a terminal session to it via the serial port. I donot have an IP address assigned to the ethernet interface, so it cannot be ussed. The array seems to be working as it is part of an Oracle DB. The DB is 24x7 operation so I cannot easily reset the array My question is, is that any another way I can get to it without having to reset the array. the OS is Solaris 8 Thanks R |

| if you have a 3300 its not a raid system. the 3310 is a raid system with 1 or 2 raid-controller.... the 3300 is a jbod system! if you have the 3310, then you need other terminal settings. sun standard is 9600 8n1 and the minnow has 38400 8n1 !!! if you are connected with the right parameters press ctrl+l to refresh the screen. |

Acutally there is no such thing product as a "3300". There is only the 3310, which is available with 0, 1 or 2 controllers. The 0 controller model is the JBOD, the 1 and 2 controller models are the RAID versions. The 0 controller version is also refered to as an "Expansion Unit" when connected to the RAID controller on another 3310. The term "3000" (aka Storedge 3000) is normally used to refer to the range of products (being the 3510 and 3310), whilst the term "3300" is used to describe the SCSI versions of the arrays, of which the 3310 is currently the only model.
