| Hi techies I just picked up a new a used E220R from eBay. Unfortunately, it came without harddisks. For test purpose, we've installed a graphics adaptor (Raptor), attached a keyboard and turned it on. The Sun showed the status messages (3 or 4 lines; memory, cpu etc.) but NO prompt. I tried to get it with STOP-A with success. Is this behavior normal for a system without disks? Jochen |

I've seen some scsi controllers confused to the point that they wouldn't initialize and let the OBP proceed, but simply removing the disks from a 220 shouldn't do that. Can you put the key in the 'diag' position and get any extra output during POST? -- Darren Dunham ddunham@taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper?
