Sounds like the card isn't being initialized. Do you have all the packages/drivers installed ? Have you setup the Xservers file for two devices ? You should be able to run two-headed. (but without Xinerama since the cards are not identical) >do i have to deactivate ati on-board graphic card into DCA before >booting solaris? > >thanks for help, |

Before installing elite3d, i'm using on-board ati xl, with sun xorg. You suggest i should use Xsun instead of Xorg? but i'm not sure there are such drivers for solaris x86? > You should be able to run two-headed. > (but without Xinerama since the cards are not identical) > > > >>do i have to deactivate ati on-board graphic card into DCA before >>booting solaris? >> >>thanks for help, |

That card won't do much until microcode gets loaded. So you'd need a device driver and a microcode daemon just to get it to start talking (alive card with a black screen). Then you'd need an Xorg or Xsun DDX module to draw. Unless all this has been ported to X86, it won't do anything. (you might have a shot if they'd release the source under OpenSolaris ...) > >> You should be able to run two-headed. >> (but without Xinerama since the cards are not identical) >> >> >> >>>do i have to deactivate ati on-board graphic card into DCA before >>>booting solaris? >>> >>>thanks for help, |

You'ld be better off with a standard PC graphics card.
