sun monitor GDM 20D10 problem

'new' 20D10 suddenly exhibited the following behavior:

in mid session, the vertical size began to shrink, to single line,
then flipped over to the correct image but reversed in the vertical
direction. the horizontal was still fine.

also the green on light on the front panel went off, and the monitor
was not respomsive to the on-off switch.

i had to pull the plug to get it to return to normal, which is its
current state.

is this as lost cause?
