| More specifically, can the refresh rate on the video card in a Sun Ultra 5 be altered and, if so, how? Thanks! Thanks! You fail to be specific about which frame buffer is used in your machine and U-5 shipped with 4 different ones. http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub....graphics.html The manual page you probably want is m64config(1M), although you may need to read pgxconfig(1M). Further since you have not supplied the specifications of that monitor how is anyone supposed to know what resolutions and refresh rates it can support? |

Ok, the details are: 1. The posting is for a co-worker. I happen to think Usenet is fantastic and of great value; he never uses it. He had asked the question of me via email and I was just passing it on. 2. All I know is it's a Sun Ultra 5, fairly old, around 3 years. I'll hunt down the original invoice somewhere; it may even have some of the technical details. 3. All I really wanted to know is whether the video card refresh rate COULD be changed. My co-worker will have to work out the details for the proper settings. 4. For some reason he's not using the Sun monitor, perhaps for desktop real estate reasons. He's trying to use a Sony Multiscan E220 monitor. 5. We both have home offices and tele-commute. The Sun box isn't accessible to me. Hope those details help (although I don't think they do :-) ). Thanks for the replies so far, I'll pass the details on. Regards, Scott |
