One can only hope it is to fix the problems described in SunAlert/57618.

Thanks both of you for the info. We have several
V440s, and I was not aware of this issue until now.
Regards,
ds

I've tried to find Sun Alert ID 57618 on sunsolve.sun.com. I found a
57517 and a 51619 but no 57618.

So what exactly is the v440 problem? We have one already and a bunch
more in transit on a truck somewhwre.

Thanks

You need a valid Sun support contract (as far as I can tell) to find it, and
even then I had to use the advance search. If you have one, login and try
these direct links:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/docum...nAlert%2057618
http://sunsolve8.sun.com/search/docu...y=1-26-57618-1

The crux of the issue:

'... Sun Fire V440 and Netra 440 Systems Using a Specific Networking
Configuration may Unexpectedly Reset'

With the V440, it seems to involve the ce0 if. The current work-around is
in there also.

Apparently you have to subscribe to an alerts newsletter to really keep
up on this stuff, but it'd be nice if the VAR would keep it's customers up
to date also. Sort of like auto dealers getting safety and recall notices?
