Default Two SparcServer 20 questions

1. Can I use a Sun type 5c keyboard/Mouse with the a SparcServer 20

2. Can I use a Silicon Graphics GDM 20D111 monitor on the SparcServer?
Both units are known good. I just sold my SGI Indy and the Sun came from a
working environment. I have tried hooking it up but I have problems. When
I turn the computer on it beeps and the green light comes on in the corner
but there is no video. The light next to the power light on the monitor is
constantly yellow. This computer was being used with unit that let you keep
the system in one room and the keyboard/mouse/monitor in another and connect
them via ethernet. The unit is made by a company called Boundless
Technologies and its model number is 3530-4014-7182 (Network Computer XL).
Are there some changes that need to be made to go back to using the computer
with a more traditional setup?

Thanks,
Dave

Probably.

Hold down the Stop and N keys when turning the SS20 on. That
should reset the NVRAM to its default state. Also, what socket
are you plugging the monitor's cable into on the SS20?

Yes. I'm doing it now while sitting here.

Probably, but the wiring of the 13W3 connector pins is not the
same for Sun and SiliconGraphics. So neither a Sun cable nor a SGI
cable will do the right thing.

Dunno, but I use a Silicon Graphics 17' monitor with my U1, no problem at
all. However, I couldn't get it to work with an SS20.

Dunno about that particular monitor, but some monitors are the same
for Sun and SGI (probably since Sony only wanted to make one type and then
brand them differently..) , you just have to open it up and either switch
a miniature switch on the PCB, or move a jumper, or resolder a jumper..

I have once seen a webpage describing it, but I have no idea where.
