| Hi, I am having odd problems with my keyboard. Firstly, i notice that the centre pin on my keyboard cable is missing on one end (pin 4 I think). Not sure if that is relevant, because i think that pin is for the mouse, but still... Anyway, if i plug in the cable and just power up the system, it says keyboard not present and switches to serial i/o. However, I can power up the system via the power button on the keyboard, so something must be getting through. Also, if i press a button on the keyboard during startup the keyboard is detected, although it won't work until i remove the plug and put it in again. Could this be the keyboard receive line not getting through? I have tried both sides of the keyboard connection and checked the pin on the cable. Does anyone have any other ideas (i don't have any other hardware to test with)? Thanks, Rob. |

| Not in the UK though! Perhaps it wouldn't be much more than £10 inc. postage, but I would like to verify it isn't the system first. Rob. However this won't tell you whether the keyboard socket is damaged ... |
