Greetings!

First of all, a big hello to you folks!

I've got an Ultra 5 with 64 megs of RAM, and I feel that I badly need
more RAM if I'm to have any fun with it. Now, I know that Ultra 5 and
10s have the same type of RAM, but:
Is it guaranteed that any RAM pulled from an Ultra 10 will work in an
Ultra 5? There's a few Ebay offers of "Ultra 10 RAM", but no mention of
wether or not it's compatile with Ultra 5s.

A quick note on Debian: Debian is for people who think they're good
enough to be a Slacker, but still need to have someone (apt-get) to hold

Should be fine, U5 and U10 has the same montherboard.

Some memories are 50 ns and some are 60 ns.

Perform a upgrade to the latest Openboot first(3.31).

Just likem to add that you can remove the floppy and install 1GB RAM
which is needed if you intend to run S10 and JDE.

Yep, Ultra 10 RAM will work in a U5 with no problems.

The Ultra 5 and 10 are identical, with the exception of the case they
come in.

I should also add that while the RAM is the same electronically, you'll
have to make sure that it's physically short enough to fit underneath in
the U5's sockets, underneath the floppy drive IIRC.

As Michael suggested, I could remove the floppy drive if need be,
because I haven't got the measurements on the RAM in that Ebay offer.

Go and get patch 106121-18, and install it as documented in
its README. If `prtconf -V` shows that you have version 3.31.0
from 2001/07/25, you already have the most recent version.
