| I have an Ultra2 with a couple of 296MHz processors. I also have a few Ultra SparcII 360MHz and a couple of 400MHz processors hanging around. I have not yet found any reference for a jumper setting that might allow me to use either in the Ultra2. I guess my question is, is 296MHz as high as I can go in the Ultra2? |

There must be some 2MB 400MHz UltraSparcII's that will fit in the Ultra2 slots. The 400MHz cpus I have are the 4MB ecache guys and the heatsink on the back makes them too thick to fit in the backmost slot. |

You also need to worry about the revision of the system board. IIRC, only the newest revision supports the 400Mhz CPU's. U2's with dual 400's are very nice systems, I used to support several of them.
