Default Ultra2 and X1053a ethernet/scsi sbus

Hi,

We have a SUN Ultra2, which sadly has a problem with the network
interface on the motherboard. To get round this, we figured that
adding in an sbus card with ethernet would maybe work, so....

Bought an X1053a (501-2015), installed it, but its not picked up at
all. Tried a different version of the card (501-2981), same result.

Have also tried the cards in an Ultra1, with no luck.

I don't know much about SUN hardware, but this seems to be the right
card for the Ultra2.

I upgraded obp to v3.25, and running Solaris-8.

Any help/suggestions appreciated

regards
Dave

There is no reason why this shouldn't work. What steps did you take
to configure the card. The basic idea is that you would do a boot -r
then use ifconfig to plumb and up the interface.

Not that it should make a difference but you could get a 10/100 card
that would work also instead of this card which is 10 only. Take a
look at X1059A:
