Default X server video problem

I installed Ubuntu 6.06 on a SunBlade 150 and everything went OK. The
I went to install x-window-system-core, xserver-xorg and
gnome-desktop-environment and that install went OK. I picked the ati
video driver since it was default and I read this
(http://www.de-brauwer.be/docs/debian_on_sun.html) which pointed me in
that direction as well. The only errors I saw were some ttf default
config files couldn't be loaded.

When I run startx I get a loud continuous beep and the monitor says
Sync Out of Range and I have to reboot to get it to stop. I'm not sure
what I am missing but I am pretty stuck here.
