Default ATS (shared tape) problems in 11.11 (unable to obtain status...)

Hello,

we do periodically have a problem with ATS (shared tape) in a two-node
cluster:
Ocasionally processes hang unkillable when accessing the tape device.
Usually "ioscan -kfnC tape" displays the S/W State as no_HW. Once
issuing
an ioscan without -k did help.

The problem occurs with a DLT8000 Library 2/20 connected via FC and a
switch to a Tachyon XL2. When one drive in the library is not
respnsive, the other drive still works. stviewcl however does not
provide any status, so I guess the software is broken or in a bad
state.

Patches and software are the latest versions regarding 06/2003
(Support Plus, Applications, OE).

stcheckconf -v -k -C file brings up an error about a modified
DEVICE_ID, but I'm sure the device hasn't been changed.

stcheckconf without "-k" seems to hang forever...

Any insights? I have already logged a call in the German RC, but got
nothing usable back...

Regards,
Ulrich
