| Dear HP fans, I have a J5600 workstation. I wish to install on it "HPUX11i-OE-Ent B.11.11.0206 HP-UX Enterprise Operating Environment Component". I have first do an install cycle with a 2 CDs set named "core OS hp-ux 11i Enterprise" Install is successful but only the core OS is installed. There is no trace of Mirror, glance, EMS, OnlineJFS which come with the Enterprise OE bundle. What is the next step to complete my installation ? (which CD to use ??) I found nowhere on my CDs a bundle "HPUX11i-OE-Ent". I have these CDs: application sofware , support+, core OS Foundation, core OS Enterprise. I have also a contract support with HP but their phone number is now forwarded to a new call center which do even know what is a Superdome. I have read and reread HP-UX 11i Version 1 Installation and Update Guide but i am still lost. Any idea ? Thanks. Alain. Brussels Belgium. |

The Enterprise OE is installable *only* on servers, not workstations. Ignite-UX will not permit you to install that OE onto a workstation. The only installation you will be able to do from that media onto your J5600 is the No-OE option. > Thanks. > Alain. > Brussels Belgium. -- Bruce Rodean Hewlett-Packard Company rodean@fc.hp.com 3404 East Harmony Road MS #57 Ignite-UX Team Fort Collins, Colorado 80528 This does not reflect the official position of Hewlett-Packard Company in any way, shape or form. | Bruce, thanks you very much for your explanation. Installation manual should insist on that point and also say on which media products are. I will by-pass this commercial restriction by installing one by one individual products. In my company (Belgacom) , we have in use true servers (K360, N-class, SuperDome, even olds E55). If i compare a K360 with a J5600 i can hardly say that the server is the K360 (1 cpu 180 MHz, 1GB RAM, internal hard-disks) when i compare it with a J5600 (2 cpu 540 MHz, 2.5GB RAM, 2 FC HBA).
