| Hi, we have several FC60 diskarrays. Apparently there are two RS-232 connectors on each controller. I would like connect these controllers to our terminal servers. However, I seem unable to find any info about the two RS-232 ports. I would like to know if you can use these ports to connect to the controller, and what params to use (baud rate, flow-control, ...) . I checked the HP website for info but was unable to find something. Any help much appreciated. With kind regards, Kris |

| Kris, The only experience I have had with these 'ports' was during an FC60 install when the firmware got in a mess and insisted that one controller was in a passive state (even an ammgr -c AA <ArrayID> would not fix it). An RC engineer I know guided me through a reset via my laptop to the RS232. An early version of the firmware was to blame!! You can see the boot sequence of the FC60 with a terminal (HyperTerminal is OK) connected at 9600/8/N/1 e.g: LSI Logic Series 3/4 Disk Array Controller Boot Software Version: 03.01.00.02 - 07/02/99 Copyright 1999, LSI Logic Inc. Current controller date: 01/10/03 time: 07:02:19 *** Press SPACE key twice to enter Boot Operations Menu etc............................. From what I can remember something like a 9 to 9 pin with a 2/3 swap? and 5-5 (SG) worked OK. I would caution that I don't think the RS232's are used for any kind of general administration so are best left alone! Best of Luck David.
