Default HP 9000 C200 internal disk

Hi All,

I have a C200 workstation with a 9GB drive. I know I can add another
drive, and that the workstation supports Ultra Wide Single Ended SCSI,
but what type of drive do I need. For example can I add a U320 drive
if it has a 68pin connector. My knowledge of SCSI is limited.

Any help appreciated
Ronnie

I see 2 conditions:
Same kind of connector and same electrical properties: SE (single ended),
DF (differential) or LVD (low voltage differential).

You can pick up fairly inexpensive Seagate drives on eBay that will work. I
got Seagate drives since that's what was installed originally. I got the
ST318436LW when I bought mine a little more than a year ago. Seagate has a
nice model number interpreter on their web site. For the C200, you want the
first digit to be 3, indicating low form factor and the last characters to
be W or LW. The middle 4 or 5 digits represent the capacity of the drive.

A new LVD disk will fall back to SE, for backwards compatibilty on SE
busses. Last time I checked at least.

(HVDiff. is a different bus animal completely though.)
