| I don't have the panel to connect to the machine, but if anyone has the pinout availiable, I may be able to homebuild an adapter to get a serial console. If anybody has a spare mux panel, it would be welcome as well. Gereon Wenzel |

That will be very difficult. The MDP isn't just a straight connection for all the serial lines but something like a switched multiplexer... Maybe it's easier to get a MDP Panel... Benjamin |

I've got the mux cable but not the panel, any use? The MDP isn't just a straight connection for > all the serial lines but something like a switched multiplexer... I was afraid of something like that... BTW. I have two different peripheral boards: - one has an single ordinary 9 Pin sub-D connector (looks like matching the 40299-60003 cable?) - one has the 78 Pin 4 Row connector (like for 5062-3052 or 5062-3074) Isn't the first the MUX(MDP) while the later is the direct (DDP) board? I may get (temporary) acces to a panel of the later art? > Maybe it's easier to get a MDP Panel... I have a 8 port panel labeled "EISA/PCI Mux expansion". Is there any way to get it connected to a HP-PB machine, or does it use a totally different interior? Gereon Wenzel |

Did a quick multimeter check on the DDP Panel yesterday: It looks like its straight connected to the 78 pins of the output, No electronics inside the panel. Now to find a place to purchase the 78pin plug... Gereon Gereon |

I don't know the DDP since I only had (and still have) the MDP but since the connector has that much pins it's possible that there is a line for every serial interface. Benjamin |
