| Hello All, Has any one taken HP/UX Administration exam ? My background is in Solaris and AIX, but want to get certification in HP/UX. I am currently Solaris certified. How tough is HP/UX Admin exam if I do not have much experience administrating HP/UX ? Also, is it worth the effort ? Thanks, Kalpesh |

The CSE exams ask a lot of experience. There are only a few places in the world where you can do them. Do not waste your time if you do not have experience with LVM on HP-UX or building boot-sectors on HP9000 boxes. Having a CSA diploma is always good. CSE is a better diploma, it shows that you have done some pratical tests. Regards, Jan Gerrit |

| NIS should not be a problem for a Solaris certified guy > The CSE exams ask a lot of experience. There are only a few places in the > world where you can do them. But I still build the kernels using sam A course in the firmware of a 8400 is also usefull. Installing hpux is easier as switching on the system. Paul |

I do not have experience with either one of those. Could I not learn those buy reading the material ? Or is it very difficult to pass the test if I do not have *real life* experience with them ? > Having a CSA diploma is always good. > > CSE is a better diploma, it shows that you have done some pratical tests. > > > Regards, > > > Jan Gerrit |

It's like all certification exams. Easy if you have practical experience, useless if all you've done is crammed the knowledge in there and looked for the least-wrong answer. I would suggest you will get much more value from the certification if you have some experience in adminning HP servers.
