| Hi, last night, the incremental backup of two HP-UX 11.11 systems took 5 hours 20 minutes to save 5.3GB to File Jukebox (located on an EVA 4000) using Data Protector 6.0 with recent patches (including the database performance fix). Most of the files are located on a HP EVA 4000, and _every_ file system is mirrored (different disk, or different EVA). One detail: 3862 directories and 139 files making 54MB took over 9 minutes to save (96kB/s). Is it the enhanced incremental backup that is to very slow? Compared to this, a Windows system only took 4 minutes to complete an incremental backup. The odd thing is that even though all filesystem are on an EVA, some have good performance, while others seem to have terrible performance. The machine has Onnline JFS, so I wonder whether some buffer shortage could be the reason for the terrible performance. Normal users of the system did not notice performance problems with the filesystems so far. Regards, Ulrich |
