Blush! :-) Well, I 'got' an offer I couldn't refuse. But I was
probably going to retire anyway in little over a year. And look at the
bright side: My retirement seems to have done wonders for HP's stock
price! :-)

Thanks for the pointers. As I mentioned in my other response of today,
I now finally have cable Internet, so things should be much easier/
faster/cheaper from now on.

you got full retirement then, right? i was rif's in Aug/01 at age
58, a real pisser. took until this spring to get my head straight.

it was hard to get to mad at hp, with just over 5yrs on their
payroll my co.retirement account was at 22k. that didn't cost
me a single dime.

the brass parachute was only slightly better than a trip to
the dentist, espeically considering that "redeployment" somehow
got rif's along with the rest of us. --Loren
